The eastern purple coneflower (Echinacea purpurea) "Ruby Giant" is a true gem among other coneflower varieties thanks to its exceptionally large blooms. This tall perennial plant, that develops stiff, coarse-surfaced stems, dazzles with inflorescences consisting of pink petals and brown centres in the second half of summer. Flower diameter reaches up to 12 cm. The "Ruby Giant" purple coneflower grows in loose tufts. The basal leaves are covered with coarse hair that appear on the stems, too. Eastern purple coneflower is an ideal plant for all perennial borders. You will achieve a stunning visual effect by growing this plant in larger groups, although it also delights in combinations with other species. We recommend to mix it with chrysanthemums, sage and ornamental grasses. It will also harmonise with cosmoses, rudbeckias and speedwells. Coneflowers may also be successfully grown for cut flowers. Bouquets made of the "Ruby Giant" blooms look spectacular and last for a long time. These blooms are also recommended for dried bouquets.

Purple, sometimes called hedgehog coneflower belongs to undemanding perennials. It will grow well both in the sun and in partial shade. Fertile and permeable soils offer this plant optimal growth conditions. This plant belongs to frost-resistant ones. It may winter in the ground even during snow-less winters.

Each package contains 10 first-class rhizome of the "Ruby Giant" Eastern purple coneflower. Plant growing instructions are printed on the package label.
