Common columbine "William Guiness" (Aquilegia vulgaris) is a charming variety that develops darkly coloured , almost black flowers. The blooms that appear atop slender stems take on a deep, purple-black colour, that contrasts nicely with the white colouring of the sepals. These plants take on a tall, bushy habitus that reaches 50 – 70 cm in height. The stems are covered with dentate leaves that also add to the ornamental value of the plant. The blooms appear in large numbers in May already and bloom continuously until July. Granny's bonnet "William Guiness", as this plant is also called, will become a great attraction of every flowery arrangement and looks glorious on borders, flower beds and in decorative containers.

Rhizomes of this beautiful plant should be planted to the borders in spring. Choose sunny or partially shady sites. This plant species grows well on light, constantly moderately moist soils that are rich in humus. Common columbines tolerate drorughts well, but rot quickly in waterlogged ground. These perennial plants are completely frost resistant and do not need to be covered before the winter.

Each package contains 1 rhizome of the black-flowered "William Guiness" common columbine. The most important growing instructions have been printed on each package.
