"Dainty Marietta" forms a compact habit and reaches a typical for French marigolds height of 20 - 40 cm. French marigolds can be easily grown from seeds. Start the culture in early spring by sowing under covers. However, you may also sow marigold seeds directly in the field, preferably in May. These plants tolerate low temperatures well, but the frost may harm them, so do not transplant the seedlings earlier than in the second half of May. French marigold grows best in full sun, but it can also succeed in partial shade. This plant is undemanding in regard to the soil - it will settle in a medium fertile and permeable soil.
