French bean "Processor" (Phaseolus vulgaris) is a medium early, dwarf variety producing green, long, stringless pods that stand out with their excellent taste. It is an easily cultivated, low-calorie vegetable with high nutritional value. Its pods are rich in vitamin C, provitamin A, calcium, iron, kalium and phosphorus, while its seeds are a rich source of B vitamins, fibre and easily assimilable proteins. It may be consumed directly cooked or fried, but is also fitted for preserving and freezing. French bean dishes form an important part of low-calorie, diabetes and vegetarian diets.
French bean "Processor" should grow on sunny, warm site in permeable, moderately moist soil that is rich in humus. Sow the seeds directly to the ground from mid-May to mid-April in 35-45 x 7-10 cm spacings, placing 2-3 seeds per hole, 2.5-3 cm deep. "Processor" bean pods are ready to be harvested from July to September.
