Hippeastrum – amaryllis "Orange Souvereign" attracts the eyes with the saturated colour of its giant flowers that bloom already 6-8 weeks after planting. The variety offered in our store produces 3 – 4 bright orange, trumpet-shaped blooms consisting of broad, fleshy, outwardly bent petals. A single plant may produce even 2-3 flowering stalks at the same time. Due to the over average ornamental value, huge size of the blooms and their juicy, magnificent colouring the hippeastrum amaryllis "Orange Souvereign" may become main attraction of a windowsill in a bright living room, on a balcony or a wind-sheltered border.

This proposed plant belongs to long-lived perennials and is easy to grow. Bulbs need to be planted in the ground or pots, two thirds of the bulb height deep (tip of the bulb should stay uncovered). Hippeastrums like light, permeable soil rich in humus and bloom both in the sun and partial shade. Dry the bulb after the flowers have wilted and it will be ready for repeated blooming after a few weeks already.
