Marigold ‘Red Gem’ is a relatively little annual plant (it grows 25 to 35 centimetres in height), whose eye-catching numerous reddish-brown flowers will attractively decorate any planter or flower bed. Marigold ‘Red Gem’, a truly indispensable border plant, is very little demanding as far as the type soil is concerned and will also thrive even when the soil is only slightly moist.
Growing: sow the seeds under cover from March to April or directly into the soil from late April to early May. The seeds germinate in 7 to 14 days at 18oC. In the second half of May, plant out into a permanent position in 30x30cm spacings. This variety likes any type of soil.
