The Nora Barlow double flowered columbine is a perennial of the buttercup family. It develops an erect, branched habit. Double, bicolour, pompom shaped flowers hang at the tips of the slender, about 80 centimetre long stems. They take on a beautiful pink colour with white-yellow frame at the tips. Columbine leaves are tiny, subtle, and consist of dentate blades. Light, slightly powdered shade of green perfectly harmonizes with the petal tips. Columbines, including presented variety, are recommended for borders. Their intriguing appearance gives arrangement a natural, even wild character. You can plant them next to tall trees, at gazebos, and along paths. Columbines are not popular as cut flowers. What a shame, taking into account their appearance and durability. High nectar production of those charming blooms is their another asset, one that bumblebees eagerly take advantage of. The Nora Barlow columbine should be planted next to species that slugs and snails feed on - it effectively repels those pests.

It belongs to undemanding perennials. It still prefers permeable and humous soils that are moderately moist. This plant must be watered during periods of drought. It thrives on a sunny site, but will cope in partial shade too. As a hardy plant, it winters in the ground and starts the vegetation period quite early.

One package contains 1 seedling of the Nora Barlow double-flowered columbine. The basic plant information and growing instructions can be found on the package label.
