The Lady Alexandra Duff peony is an old, highly valued variety whose frizzled, light pink petals deserve your attention. As befits a true lady, this is a showcase plant that looks great both alone and in a group. Flowers of the Lady Aleksandra Duff peony develop abundantly on the densely covered with leaves, erect stems that reach heights of 60 to 90 centimetres. The turning of dark pink buds into semi-spherical flowers starts in late May and continues throughout June. Subtly scented peony flowers retain their looks for seven to fourteen days, depending on the conditions in the garden. The reliable and vigorous peony of the presented variety has won numerous awards, what should not come as surprise to anyone. Its dense tufts crowned with impressive flowers constitute an incarnation of an ornamental plant. You can plant it in rows alongside edges of your property or on a perennial flower bed. This peony supplies excellent cut flower too. Cut with a closed bud would stay fresh for over a week.

You can fully enjoy a peony if you meet its requirements. This species prefers sunny sites, but partial shade would not hurt them. In either case, make sure that peony grows at a spot that is sheltered from the wind. It thrives in a fertile, rich, moderately moist, and permeable soil. Heavy flowers might cause stems to bend, hence peony might require staking. Plant rhizomes in spring and late in summer, relatively shallowly. Cover them with several-centimetres-thick layer of soil. Peony is very sensitive when it comes to that aspect. Rhizomes planted too deeply could not produce flowers for several years.

Each package contains one seedling of the Lady Alexandra Duff peony. Essential plant facts and growing instructions were printed on the package label.
