The "Top Brass" peony (Paeonia lactiflora) is a wonderful variety with pastel-coloured petals. The plants develop broad, abundant, 60 - 90 cm tall tufts. The erect habit gives peonies an even more elegant look. The palmate leaves shine beautifully in the sunlight and harmonise perfectly with light bloom colours. The "Top Brass" variety offered here develops white flowers with a gentle hint of pink. There are also yellow accents visible between the tightly packed petals. This variety dazzles with its bloom structure. A pompom consisting of narrow, frilled staminodes spreads over two verticils of broad petals. With time, several larger petals sprout from the middle part of the flower, adding even more charm to it. This perennial plant blooms in May and June. Peonies are ideally suited for cultivation on garden borders, where they look particularly well in English and rustic arrangements. You may also consider it a great feature plant. Cut flowers form magnificent bouquets that stay fresh and spectacular for a long time.

Growing peonies is not that complicated. These plants prefer sunny and wind-sheltered sites, they will bloom longer, however, in partial shade. The most beautiful flowers can be expected on sandy-clay soils with high organic matter content. Peonies do not stand transplanting and should grow on one site for many years. The right planting depth of 15 - 20 cm is crucial for the successful cultivation. The "Top Brass" peony is a long living plant that winters exceptionally well.
