Perennial fertiliser - Sumin - 1 kg

This fertiliser is intended for growing perennial ornamental plants where steady growth, strong rooting and abundant flowering throughout the season are desired. It is suitable for caring for perennials in borders, rock gardens and other garden plantings where plants draw nutrients from the same spot for many years. It can be included in regular fertilising to help plants maintain a healthy-looking appearance and remain attractive through the following months of growth.

Properties and benefits

Phosphorus and potassium support bud formation and flower development while helping plants maintain a compact, well-balanced habit. The fertiliser composition has been matched to the needs of perennial plants, supporting root system development and promoting even nutrition throughout the growing period. The granular form makes spreading easier, does not create dust and allows the fertiliser to be distributed accurately around plants.

Composition

The perennial fertiliser contains 7.0% total nitrogen (N), including 3.5% ammonium nitrogen and 3.5% urea nitrogen; 10.0% total phosphorus pentoxide (P2O5), of which 5.5% is phosphorus pentoxide soluble in formic acid; 10.0% water-soluble potassium oxide (K2O); 3.4% total magnesium oxide (MgO); and 19.0% total sulphur trioxide (SO3), including 17.0% water-soluble. The composition also includes micronutrients: 0.05% total boron (B) as acid, including 0.03% water-soluble; 0.200% copper (Cu) as sulphate; 0.10% iron (Fe) as sulphate; 0.20% manganese (Mn) as sulphate; 0.010% total molybdenum (Mo) as ammonium molybdate, including 0.005% water-soluble; and 0.200% zinc (Zn) as sulphate.

Application and feeding period

This product is intended for fertilising perennials with varied nutritional needs, from species with lower requirements such as ferns, Stachys, bugle, asters, hardy pelargoniums, violets, pinks, houseleeks, whitlow grass, yucca, Lewisia, lavender, dead-nettle and coreopsis, to more demanding plants including bergenias, brunneras, hostas, buttercups, lilies of the valley, columbines, delphiniums, goat's beard, peonies, heucheras, astilbes, monkshoods, loosestrifes and daylilies. Perennial fertiliser can be used from March to August, adjusting the intensity of fertilising to the requirements of individual plants and soil conditions.

Dosage

For plants with low fertiliser requirements, the recommended rate is 20 g per m² in April, followed by 15 g per m² in June and 15 g per m² in July. For perennials with medium requirements, suitable rates are 20 g per m² in April, 25 g per m² in June and 20 g per m² in July. Species with high nutritional needs require stronger feeding, so use 30 g per m² in April, 40 g per m² in June and 30 g per m² in July. Higher rates may be considered on light, sandy and poorer soils, as well as for older, larger specimens.

Directions for use

Scatter the granules evenly around the plants, using the rate appropriate to their nutritional requirements. After application, it is advisable to lightly mix the fertiliser into the top layer of the growing medium and ensure soil moisture so the nutrients can be gradually taken up by the roots. Each granule contains the full set of declared nutrients, helping to distribute macro- and micronutrients evenly over the soil surface.
