The Polianthes Cherry pink tuberose is famous for its wonderful fragrance. The beautiful flowers that bloom in the summer encourage you to plant it at home and in the garden. The tropical-climate plant develops from an underground, large tuber. Long, narrow leaves of the tuberose form rosettes. A stiff, leafy, 60 to 90 centimetres tall shoot emerges from among the leaves. Atop of it a spiky inflorescence grows. Tuberose produces several, up to a dozen, funnel-shaped flowers consisting of slender petals. Flowers of the presented variety take on a charming pink colour. Tuberose scent is compared to those jasmine, lily of the valley, or citrus fruit. This magnificent plant is recommended for growing in pots, at borders, and at showcase flowerbeds. Its seducing fragrance adds a nice touch to place of relaxation in the garden.

Tuberose is a plant with moderate requirements. It grows well in a gardens and a pot. To grow healthy and vigorously, it requires a warm, sheltered position, and plenty diffused light. Permeable, humous soil is absolutely recommended. Add some gravel, sand, and baro to compact or loamy soil. Tuberose grown in a pot requires regular watering that keeps the soil moist at all times. Plants in the garden are usually satisfied with natural watering by rain. In the latter case, watering is recommended during prolonged rainless periods that may cause plants to wilt. Fertilize tuberoses as soon as they produce first buds. Liquid fertilizers for flowering plants are recommended.

The right time to plant tuberose in a pot is March. Shallowly planted tubers need quite some time to germinate. To grow healthy plants, you need to provide them with a temperature above 20⁰C. Water them with small doses of water to maintain stable, yet moderate humidity. You can leave well-developed tuberose seedlings in pots or transfer them to the garden mid-May.

Tuberose is not hardy and cannot winter outside in central or northern Europe. Dig out and clean the rhizomes of excess soil and store them in a dry room at a temperature between 6 to 12⁰C. Storage in sawdust is recommended.
