The large-flowered, frizzled Rik's Frizzle gladiolus definitely belongs to enchanting flowers. This sophisticated and elegant plant will take over every garden it grows in. This variety looks particularly well planted in larger groupings. Underground bulbs shoot imposing, tall stems and leaves that cling to the stem base. This variety may produce up to 28 large flowers on a single stem - a feat unusual even for the large-flowered gladioli. The light, salmon-coral cluster of flowers reaches the peak of its beauty between July and September. Waved flowers develop gradually from the bottom to the top over a four week span. Presented gladiolus can grow 130 to 140 centimetres tall in optimal conditions. Gladioli belong the most popular species grown for cut flowers. It is hard to resist doing so in case of this particular variety. A few large inflorescences can quickly fill a vase. The spectacular effect of a coral-pink bouquet lasts for up to two weeks when provided with proper care.

Corms of the Rik's Frizzle variety should be planted after the last frost in spring when the soil temperature has already gone up.  Plant the bulbs on a sunny site in a nutrient-rich soil. Due to the size of the mature plants, we recommend choosing a site that is sheltered from wind. Regularly water and fertilize gladioli cultures during the intensive growth. Dig out the bulbs before the winter. This is a frost-sensitive species that can be damaged by low temperatures. Gladioli corms, stored successfully over the winter, should be planted next spring at a different site.

One package contains 5 gladioli bulbs of the presented variety. These bulbs are sized 12/14 centimetres in circumference. The basic plant information and growing instructions can be found on the package label.
