Echinacea 'Sombrero Salsa Red' has an exceptionally rich red colour that immediately catches the eye. Its flowers, with a large, darker centre, are borne on stiff, slightly rough stems. This variety keeps a very compact, low habit, so it does not flop outwards and is excellent for filling the front of a border. It is an exceptionally hardy variety, tolerant of frost and difficult conditions, and it also flowers for a very long time. On sunny days, its blooms are always surrounded by plenty of butterflies and bees.
