The canna lily variety named Tenerife attracts attention through its golden-yellow flowers with orange-red speckles covering them. This variety is a garden hit that adds tropical charm to every composition. It is a stunning, dazzling combination of saturated flower colours and bright green of the leaves. The up to 120 centimetres tall specimens look great in pots and in standalone plantings faraway from lawns, walls, and fences. This spectacular plant can be grown in a central point of the arrangement where it shall spread its fiery shine of the large, distinct flowers that tower over other plants. Canna flowers from mid-Summer to the first wave of cold in autumn.

Plant canna lilies in the garden and in containers late in springs when the risk of frost is gone. Plant them about 5 centimetre deep in the soil. We recommend keeping the plants 60 to 90 centimetres away. Sunny, sheltered, quickly warming up sites are perfect for canna. This plant needs a fertile, humous-rich soil when planted outside in the garden. Feeding the place with compost or manure is a great way to fertilize the product. Canna plants designated for growing in planters must be provided with permeable soil that is rich in organic nutrients and an additional drainage layer that prevents rhizomes from excessive humidity. A planter for a canna must also be large enough to let the plant develop unhindered. During the flowering period, canna must be regularly watered and fertilized with flowering plant food.

Canna is a frost-sensitive plant. In order to enjoy them for a longer than one summer, dig out the rhizomes and transfer to a room with a stable temperature of 5 to 8?C. Keep the rhizomes in a box, secured from drying out with a peat layer.

One package contains 1 first choice rhizome of the Tenerife canna lily. Basic plant facts and growing instructions can be found on the package label.
