Winter rye for aftercrop (Secale) is an undemanding, sturdy corn crop that is perfectly suited to act as an aftercrop and organic green fertiliser. It germinates and grows well in every kind of soil, from light and sandy ones, to heavier ones that tend to crust. Winter rye is completely frost resistant and is not affected by drought.
Seeds are sown in early autumn into soil left behind by summer vegetables. Sown plants will start to grow rapidly in the following season and provide large amounts of green mass, that could be used as fodder or ploughed through and mix with soil to fertilise it. Independent from the method we choose, we provide vegetables and ornamental plants with well structured soil, secured from erosion and enriched with organic matter. This guarantees rich harvest and abundant blooming.
The package contains 1000 g of aftercrop winter rye seeds. The sow-by date and growing instructions were printed on the back side of the package.
