Zucchini "Astra Polka" (Cucurbita pepo) - TREATED SEEDS - is an annual plant with a bushy habit. Dark green, shiny fruit taken on elongated, club-like shape. The pale flesh is crisp and firm, what makes "Astra Polka" fruit particularly popular among consumers. They contain large amounts of vitamin C, B1, B2, PP and provitamin A. They are also a rich source of fibre and minerals. Young zucchinis are particularly valued for their excellent taste. You may prepare letcho, cream soup, pies, vegetable pasta or marinades with them.

Zucchini grows well and yields rich harvest on warm and sunny sites. It thrives on soils that are rich in nutrients and humus with a pH of 6.5 to 7.0. It is also important that the soil stays moist, yet is permeable. Zucchini may be grown from direct sow onto the field or from earlier produced seedlings. Preparing seedlings in a warm interior will enable you to harvest fruit earlier. Seedlings are transplanted to the permanent site in second half of May, when the danger of frost has passed. You may also sow zucchini seeds directly to the ground at that time. Seeds offered in our online store have been treated. This procedure destroys germs living on seed surface and protects seeds from germs lingering in the soil. It also beneficially influences sprouting. Fruit that have grown 18 - 22 cm long taste best. They ripen early, "Astra Polka" bears fruit from June until first autumn frosts.

Each package contains 5 gof "Astra Polka" zucchini treated seeds. The package information contains a growing guide and the sow-by date.
