You will achieve better quality, richer crops growing zucchinis from seedlings, produced in a heated room. Seeds are sown to pots in mid-April. Zucchini seeds may also be sown to the ground, but no earlier than mid-May, when the risk of frosts is over. At the same time the already prepared seedlings are transplanted to the permanent site. Zucchinis need to be grown in 1 x 1 m spacings. You may expect first crops after circa two months. The plants bear fruit continuously until first frosts. Young fruit, 18 - 20 cm long, display the highest taste and nutritional value. Zucchini needs a sunny site with fertile, moist soil to grow well and yield rich crops.
