The 'Green Eyes' bicolour black-eyed Susan (Rudbeckia hirta ) is a dazzling variety of the well-known annual plant that produces magnificent single flowers. The erect shape and lush, tufted form make rudbeckias an exceptionally adorable filler material for empty spaces on flower beds. The variety presented here in our store belongs to those of moderate vigour, as it grows 60-80 cm high and approx. 30 cm wide. It is distinguished from its popular relatives by the colour of flowers. Each of them, sitting atop erect, stiff stalks, has a convex light green centre, surrounded by a whorl of long, tongue-shaped, creamy-yellow petals. The petal bases have a sunny, juicy colour, while their tips are much lighter. The impressive shading of the flowers and their light centres create a unique decoration of a flower bed or border. The proposed variety acts great as a durable cut flower, too, especially in compositions with white, yellow and the standard varieties of black-eyed Susan.
The 'Green Eyes' black-eyed Susan can be grown in two ways. If you are set on the early flowering, it is worth to grow seedlings first. For that purpose you should sow already in the early spring. The offered variety grows quickly and therefore it is also suitable for cultivation from direct sow in the second half of spring. Choose a sunny position, with a humous, loosened soil. You will be able to admire the huge, basket-shaped flowers with a diameter of about 12 cm from July to October frosts.
Each package contains premium quality seeds of the bicolour 'Green Eyes' black-eyed Susan. The growing instructions and the sow-by date were included in the product information.
