The Bright Eyes fall phlox is a sensational perennial for flower beds thanks to its lush flowers and a long flowering period. Erect phlox tufts grow up to 90 cm in height. The straight, rather thin stems are covered with long, bright green leaves. Clusters of pink flowers, adorned with a carmine eye, appear atop the stems in summer. Those dome-shaped panicles have a pleasant smell that attracts numerous pollinating insects. This beautiful plant deserves a special place in the garden. Phloxes, due to their size, are recommended for the centre or background of a flower bed. They look great planted along walls and fences. Those erect, tall plants would also look great as lawn edgings.
Phlox is an easy-to-maintain plant with great decorative value. It only needs a moist, fertile soil in a well-lit place. The substrate should be thoroughly verticulated and mixed with organic fertilizer, e.g. compost. Applying drainage at the bottom of the planting holes is also recommended, as is trimming of the shoots right after flowering. It allows the plants to grow back and flower again at the end of summer. This species belongs to hardy plants that do not require covering.
We hereby offer one seedling of the Bright Eyes phlox. Basic plant facts and growing instructions were printed on the package label.
