"Pioneer" cauliflower (Brassica oleracea convar. botrytis) belongs to the most valued medium-early varieties. It produces large, compact, semi-circular white heads. "Pioneer" cultivar is particularly recommended for field planting to enjoy late spring / early summer or early autumn harvest.
The variety available in our store grows equally well from direct sow as from seedlings. Depending on the projected harvest time cultivation starts in spring or early summer. Cauliflower seeds should be sown in multi-pot planters under glass or, when sown directly, on sunny site with fertile, permeable and quickly warming up soil. This plant brings high yield in moderately loose soils with high water retention and rich humus content. Large, delicious "Pioneer" cauliflower heads are harvested from June to July or from September to October. Presented plant is the easiest digestible cole crop and contains plent of vitamins, most notably B1, B2 and C.
