Corn lily Marquette is a plant worth thinking about when you wish to decorate your garden with a lesser-known species. Its delicate, graceful, creamy-white flowers with dark burgundy eyes in the middle grow on slender, unbranched stems. As befits a representative of the iris family, the leaves of the plant are long, sword-shaped, and uniformly green. Corn lily (Ixia) blooms in June and July. The six-petalled, radially symmetrical flowers grow in clusters at shoot tips. The moderately tall corn lily, measuring 40-to-50 centimetres, is a valuable flowerbed plant, suitable for planting in pots too. It looks best in groups that you can easily combine with other garden plants. You have to try arranging cut corn lily flowers in bouquets and other arrangements.

Plant Ixia bulbs in the ground in spring, from April to May, 6 to 8 centimetres deep. The plant is rather undemanding, light, permeable, moderately fertile soil satisfies it. Only wet and heavy soils would not be suitable for growing corn lily. This species needs a sunny, warm, and sheltered site. As a plant of limited hardiness, its bulbs should be dug out before the winter or covered with a thick, warm cover of straw or leaves.

One package contains 25 bulbs of corny lily (Ixia) Marquette, sized 5-centimetres-plus in circumference. Packaging label contains basic plant facts and a quick growing guide.
