Corn salad "Vorhart 3" (Valerianella locusta) is an annual plant. It produces small rosettes that grow 10 - 20 cm tall. They consist of oval, dark green leaves that constitute the edible, tender and juicy corn salad part. They are so tender that they almost melt in your mouth. They are valued for their subtle, slightly sweet, bitterless, nutty aroma and taste. The flavour is by far not the only corn salad feature. Its leaves contain plenty of valuable nutrients. You will find vitamin C, B vitamins and beta-carotene in them. They are also a rich source of magnesium, phosphorus, iron, kalium and zinc. They taste best eaten raw, as main ingredient of salads or combined with other leaf vegetables.
