Its delicious fruit is recommended for making into preserves - both in vinegar and in brine. The 'Orfeus F1' cucumbers were genetically modified to eliminate the bitterness from their taste and therefore can be eaten in salads. This productive variety produces large numbers of dark green, cylindrical, evenly sized and shaped berries that are sparsely covered with large spines. The variety presented here brings crops medium early, after about 55 days. One of the biggest advantages of the 'Orfeus F1" cucumber is its high resistance to diseases, including cucumber scab, powdery mildew and extremely high resistance to downy mildew.
