The 'Orfeus F1' cucumber is a parthenocarpic variety intended for growing in the open field and in greenhouses. Its delicious fruit is recommended for making into preserves - both in vinegar and in brine. The 'Orfeus F1' cucumbers were genetically modified to eliminate the bitterness from their taste and therefore can be eaten in salads. This productive variety produces large numbers of dark green, cylindrical, evenly sized and shaped berries that are sparsely covered with large spines. The variety presented here brings crops medium early, after about 55 days. One of the biggest advantages of the 'Orfeus F1" cucumber is its high resistance to diseases, including cucumber scab, powdery mildew and extremely high resistance to downy mildew. Thanks to these properties you will be able to reduce the amount of chemical control agents used in cultivation. This proves to be an exceptionally useful in amateur cultures.

Cucumber plants are heat-loving (thermophilic) and therefore prefer sunny sites that are also sheltered from winds. They require a fertile, humus-rich soil that is rich in nutrients and warms quickly. Cucumbers require abundant watering during their growth stage. Sow cucumber seeds directly onto beds or grow seedlings first. The sow in the open can start in mid May. The seeding can take place earlier, but the beds need to be covered with agrotextile or garden fleece in that case. The sow in greenhouses and tunnels can start after mid March. The harvest begins depending on the weather when the fruit has reached the desired size. Harvest the fruit regularly every second day in order to stimulate the plants to continuously produce new fruit.
