The Cusick's camas is a bulbous flowering plant that still remains rather unknown. It is easy to grow and the flower beds gain a truly magical look thanks to its presence. This tall plant grows 80 to 100 cm tall. It produces wonderful, shiny leaves and pale blue or lilac-purple star-shaped flowers that are gathered in elongated clusters. The plant is extremely resistant and growing it seems to be almost effortless. Blooms appear from May to July. The bushy camases unfold their full potential when grown in groupings. This plant is perfect for naturalistic, unpretentious meadows and looks great as background for the elevated perennial borders and as a complement to the annuals. Owing to the high ornamental value, the camas should be planted in the foreground and showcase spots.

The bulb of the Cusick's camas is large and egg-shaped. It should be planted from September to November, 10 to 15 cm deep, on a sunny site or partially shady site. A fertile, humous and moist soil suits this plant best. Apart from that, this species is rather undemanding and propagates quickly, what allows you to quickly grow abundant tufts of these beautiful flowers. Remove the flower heads after the have wilted and excavate the large bulbs at the beginning of July. Store them in airy, cool places. The plant that we present here is not completely frost resistant and we therefore recommend to mulch it. Cover the soil with conifer twigs or a layer of natural mulch. The camas can grow at one site for at least several years. Its bulbs are usually excavated after 3 to 4 years. You would then need to remove the bulbils and plant them again.

Each package contains 2 bulbs of the Cusick's camas, sized 14 to 16 cm in circumference.
