Dahlia Duet (Dahlia) is a an extremely ornamental variety that would strike in all garden arrangements with its large, bicolour blooms that reach up to 30 cm in diameter. Large, spherical inflorescences are filled with numerous dark red petals with white tips. The plants sprout numerous stems covered with feathery leaves. This cultivar grows up to 90 cm tall. It forms a perfect decoration of elevated borders, but you may also grow it alongside fences or building walls, where it will bloom from beginning of July until first frosts.

Beginning of May is the perfect time for planting Duet dahlia rootstocks in the garden. Choose a sunny and wind–sheltered site. This species prefers permeable, light, soils that are rich in nutrients and humus. It would also develop in lesser soils, but in such case abundant fertilizing and watering would be needed. Just like the other representatives of this species, Duet dahlia has to be dug out before the winter. Store rhizomes in a room protected from frosts over the winter.
