"Purple Teepee" been is a plant that you should have in your garden, because of it original and still rather uncommon purple pods. They ripen very quickly, in less than two months after the sow, and develop in myriads on the low growing plant. The pods are circular in cross section and slightly curved. Unfortunately the French bean "Purple Teepee" does not hold onto its intriguing colouring after cooking - it becomes green.

The "Purple Teepee" bean can be used in many ways. Direct consumption is one of them, as the pods are stringless. Additionally it stores well frozen. It can also be preserved and then enjoyed at dinners in winter. Childred like purple bean pods, even if they are not always keen on eating similar vegetables.

Long sowing period allows us to harvest beans regularly. Sowing "Purple Teepee" seeds every three weeks guarantees fresh crops at the same intervals. You would even be able to enjoy the taste pods in September.
