Lavender blue, long lasting European Michaelmas-daisy (Aster amellus) is sturdy perennial plant that stands out with easy cultivation and characteristic habit. Its branched, erect stems, covered with greyish green, spiky leaves form loose tufts. Numerous, plate-shaped blooms with yellow centres and radially arranged purple, pink or blue petals form on the tops of the stems end of July / beginning of October. Plants of this species grow slowly to reach final height of 50 cm. They form perfect flower bed backgrounds and rows alongside paths and fences, as they bloom long and outside the blooming season create charming, green background for the smaller plants.

Seeds of the European Michaelmas daisy are sown from mid-Spring to hotbeds, boxes and seed bed. Strong seedlings may be transplanted to the permanent site in early autumn. We should choose sunny or partially shady sites with a moderately fertile soil with neutral reaction. Broad tufts of lovely, daisy-like blooms in the most charming pastel shades will adorn a perennial bed, rock garden and an embankment. You may also use them as cut flowers in beautiful, natural bouquets.

Each package contains 0.2 g of Michalemas-daisy seeds. Package information contains a growing guide and the sow-by date.
