A fragrant begonia in colour variety mix is an exceptionally attractive tuberous plant. It dazzles with subtle, diagonal leaves and a plethora of flowers. A fragrant begonia is perfect for filling larger planters, baskets, and tall pots. Energizing red, noble white, cheerful yellow and pink flowers are always welcomed and worth some effort. Abundant, long flowering period is not the only great feature of the presented plant. A delightful, sweet scent excreted by the flowers of fragrant begonia touches the senses. Small colourful cascades of double, rose-shaped flowers look wonderful on their own. Their wonderful appearance and unorthodox elegance add a stylish touch to a partially shaded balcony, or terrace. This species cannot stand full exposure to sunlight.

The rule of thumb says that you should grow begonias in a fertile, permeable, moderately moist soil with a neutral or preferably slightly acidic reaction. We recommend planting tubers in relatively shallow yet broad planters. Place a drainage layer on the bottom of each pot. Planting time depends on the period when you would like your begonias to flower. This species is sensitive to frost, and it should therefore be planted after mid-May the earliest. If you would like to speed up the flowering, plant tubers into pots at the end of winter and keep them in warm, bright rooms. Forced plants produce flowers much earlier, in May already. Watering and fertilizing plants must be performed all season long. Cutting of the wilted flowers extends the flowering period.

You have to dig out begonia tubers in autumn, clean them and let dry slightly. Then store them in an airy container, layered with sand or sawdust. Store tubers in a dark room, at 6 to 10 degrees Celsius. Plant them again in pots in spring.

We hereby offer a colour mix of the fragrant begonia. One package contains two tubers. Plant information and growing instructions are included in the product information printed on the label.
