Ted's Favourite (Gladiolus) gladiolus delights with its beautiful, bicolour flowers. Their petals take on dark pink colour on the edges, while the inner parts of the blooms are creamy–white. Inflorescences sit atop a strong, erect stalk and consist of about a dozen large, single flowers. Ted’s Favourite gladiolus blooms reliably from July to end of August. The slender, tall plants grow even 100 – 120 cm tall. It is worth to grow small gladioli groups on lawns or borders. Planting with another summer flowers would allow you to cut single gladiolus inflorescences and place them in vases.

Gladioli bulbs should be planted in spring into a soil that has been previously enriched with compost or mineral fertilizer. Sunny and wind–sheltered sites suit these plants best. The soil needs to be fertile, rich in humus, moderately moist and permeable. Gladioli are not frost–resistant and therefore need to be dug out in autumn.
