Japanese Black Pine is a tree that grows 2 to 5 metres in height, with a conical crown that is rounded at the top. Its grey green needles are 7 to 15 centimetres long and grow in pairs. Japanese Black Pine has characteristic long, oval, greenish-brown cones that are 4 to 7 centimetres long.
Growing: sow the seeds under cover from mid-March to the end of April. Plant out in May. This variety grows well in any type of soil; salt-tolerant, it is particularly recommended for cities.
