Mock Strawberry, also known as Indian Strawberry, is a perennial plant that grows around 10 centimetres in height and whose shoots stretch outwards ever so slightly. Its leaves resemble the leaves of a strawberry and create a wonderful background for its wide yellow flowers that grow 2 to 3 centimetres in diameter. In the summer, Mock Strawberry produces edible light red fruit that may not be the tastiest, but they superbly contrast with the yellow flowers and green leaves. It is a perfect plant for flower beds or rockeries.
Growing: sow the seeds in humus garden soil from March to mid-May. Plant out to a permanent position from the summer to late autumn. The plants flower from July to September. This variety grows best in sunny or semi-shaded positions and does not mind shaded ones. The plants are fairly resistant to frost.
