"Cinderella" needle-petal aster (Callistephus chinensis) delights with unusually coloured, carmine-red blooms. "Cinderella" variety stands out with large, fluffy inflorescences that will become the main attraction of every border. They consist of densely packed single needle-shaped blooms. These annual plants grow best in soil that is rich in nutrients and water. It is of utmost importance that it is also permeable. They develop the most beautiful blooms in full sun, but you may also plant them in partial shade. Aster seeds should be sown early in spring indoors or directly to a seed bed in garden in April. Transplant seedlings to the permanent site in the second half of May in 40 x 20 cm spacings. Keeping the appropriate distances between the plants allows them to grow freely and enables proper air circulation, preventing asters from many diseases.
