'Paul's Glory' is a Hosta variety distinguished by its contrasting foliage, whose colouring changes over the course of the season. The leaf has a pale, yellowish centre framed by a blue-green margin, and the boundary between the colours becomes more clearly defined with time. In younger specimens, the leaf blades may be slightly wavy, while older plants develop a more elongated shape. It forms substantial, compact clumps that look particularly effective in partial shade and in plantings beneath the canopies of trees and shrubs.
The optimum planting period is April and May.
The recommended planting depth is 6-8 cm.
Plants should be set 40-50 cm apart.
This variety grows to a height of 50-60 cm.
It flowers in July and August.
This plant is hardy and overwinters well.
It is best used where its changing colours can be seen to full effect, for example in the central parts of a border or beside plants with more uniform foliage. It also works well as a single accent among calmer, more restrained plantings.
