Pea "Blauwschokker" (Pisum sativum) with purple pods may become the great attraction of your vegetable garden. This productive and easily cultivated variety that produces large, sweet seeds, develops beautiful, vividly purple pods with high ornamental value. Its large pods that may be harvested in June and July are long, circular in cross section and smooth, while the seeds of this productive variety are round, pale green and rich in healthy sugars, B vitamins, vitamin C, easily assimilated protein, magnesium, iron, phosphorus and other priceless minerals. "Blauwschokker" pea seeds may be eaten raw after husking, in salads and as a healthy snack, or cooked, for example in a delicious soup.

Pea is a plant that is unproblematic in cultivation. You may sow it directly to the permanent site all spring long. It grows strong and bears fruit quickly and abundantly. It requires access to sunlight and a light, aearated, humous soil. Since it enriches the soil with nitrogen, it works great as forecrop for more demanding vegetables.
