"Oregon Sugar Pod" pea (Pisum sativum) is a variety characterized by a splendid, sweet taste. This plant develops long, sparsely branched shoots that may grow up to 70 cm tall. Sugar pea needs staking. "Oregon Sugar Pod" variety shows resistance to powdery mildew. Sugar pea pods are soft and do not have hard inner lining, hence can be consumed whole. These pods are harvested green, fleshy with barely visible seeds. They are sweet and tender and may be eaten both raw and cooked.

Pea is grown from direct sow to the ground. Sugar pea seeds may be sown all spring long. We recommend to repeat the sow every two weeks, what would guarantee steady supplies of fresh pods. This plant is usually grown in rows 30 - 40 cm apart. Sugar pea prefers sunny and warm sites, yet it does not stand drought and requires regular watering. The soil for pea cultures needs to be permeable, rich in nutrients and humus.

Each package contains 40 g of the "Oregon Sugar Pod" sugar pea seeds. Growing instructions and the sow-by date are included in the package information.
