Red "Cascade" petunia "Superkaskadia" (Petunia hybrida grandiflora) is an abundantly blooming plant used mostly for decorating balconies and windowsills. This annual develops broadly branched stems that grow 60 - 80 cm long. They are covered with small, hairy leaves and a sea of large, single, funnel-shaped flowers that stun with their vividly red colour. Petunias bloom abundantly and for a long time. They will please our eyes all summer long until autumn. They look best planted in balcony boxes and hanging baskets.
Petunias are grown from seeds and because they grow slowly, the sow in early spring is advised. Seeds are sown in warm and well-lit room. Seedlings may be transplanted in the second half of May, when the danger of frost is over. Petunias grow best and bloom abundantly on sunny sites, but they will also survive in partial shade. Standard garden soil suits them well, but we recommend to fertilise it. These plants withstand short drought periods, do not stand, however, too moist soil.
