The saxifrage is a perennial that grows in dense tufts. It forms compact, evergreen pillows that consist of tiny leaves. A sea of flowers waves on the background of trilobate wedge-shaped leaves. The flowers may grow in clusters or single. Hundreds of the star-shaped raspberry red flowers will bring you unforgettable visual experiences from May to June. This plant is simply perfect for flowery carpet beddings and lawns. It constitutes a multi-purpose border filler and a covering plant. It should not be missed from rock gardens and walls. You will grow a simple, yet attractive arrangement by combining the saxifrage with sedges and alumroots or some other creeping species.

The saxifrage grows best on sunny sites, even though it will succeed on partially shady sites. It has very small soil requirements. It prefers permeable, sandy, humous and lime soils. This species will also thrive in lesser, rocky ground. The rockfoil, as this plant is also called, can survive drought and frost. It does not require any special treatment apart from the standard garden maintenance.

The saxifrage seeds should be sown between April and June on a seed bed. Transfer the seedlings to the permanent site in September every 15 to 30 cm, as the tufts spread broadly. Their target height is 15 -20 cm.

One package contains 0,1 grams of the red flowered saxifrage seeds. The basic cultivation instructions and the sow-by date were printed on the back of the package.
