The San Siro gladiolus is a variety that produces flowers in bright, saturated colours. Its lush inflorescences attract attention with their crimson-red colour. They will also seduce you with the mesmerizing charm of their shape. The velvety petals are purple in the middle and turn red towards the edge. A white stripe in the middle, at the base of the flower, adds a touch of innocent elegance. San Siro gladioli grow up to 100 centimetres tall and present their incredible blooms from July to September. The variety offered here is suited for growing in the garden, in a planter, and for cut flowers.
The characteristic, slightly flattened gladioli corms should be planted in warm, already slightly dried soil that gives them optimal conditions for growing. Choose sunny, sheltered spaces that would not expose plants to risk of getting damaged by wind or rain. To let the bulbs produce large flowers, they require a fertile, cultivated, permeable soil that has been enriched with compost the previous autumn. Place gladioli bulbs about 10 centimetres deep and slightly deeper in sandy soil to let the tall plants properly take root. Gladioli bulbs should be dug out in autumn and stored indoors until the next planting in spring.
One package contains 50 gladioli bulbs of the presented variety. These bulbs are sized 12/14 centimetres in circumference. The basic plant information and growing instructions can be found on the package label.
