The narrowleaf lupin (Lupinus angustifolius L.) is the second most important lupin species in many European countries. It has slightly higher soil requirements than the yellow lupin, yet surpasses its cousin in terms of crop production. The "Regent" variety offered here belongs to determinate, sweet varieties grown mostly for seeds. It produces blue flowers and grey, small seeds. Its branched shoots guarantee high, evenly ripening yield. The stiff stems grow well in mixtures with plants that develop slender stems. This variety is resistant to lodging and its pods to shattering. It is recommended for cultivation across Europe, including the Northern regions with harsher climate. The presented sweet lupin delights with excellent chemical composition. It contains 30-35% of protein and a medium fat volume. The alkaloids are scarce. "Regent" is intended for feeding the pigs and cattle. The hay may only be fed to sheep. Its seeds ripen quickly, around mid-August. This variety displays stronger growth at the early development stage and is not prone to fusarium wilt, nor anthracnosis. The "Regent" narrowleaf lupin is an early, evenly crop yielding plant that delights with great quality of its seeds.
