Tomato "Radana" (Lycopersicon esculentum) is a variety intended for medium-early harvest that produces cocktail-type, pear-shaped fruit. It shows strong and indeterminate growth. It is recommended for cultivation in the field, although it may also be planted in large containers on balconies and terraces. "Radana" develops small tomatoes whose weight does not exceed 15 - 20 g. They group in numerous, large bunches. These tomatoes stand out with an intriguing pear-like shape and intense, red colour. Rich taste and thin, almost unnoticeable peel are other assets of this variety. They display high nutritional value, as they contain vitamins C, B1, B2, provitamin A and minerals. The fruit may serve as garnish and addition to sandwiches and salads.

Tomato is a thermophilic plant and may be grown in the field only in frost-free periods. Although it does not require any special kind of soil, you will grow best crops planting "Radana" tomato in permeable, moderately moist soil rich in nutrients. The fruit will become more aromatic on sunny sites. Cultivation from seedlings produced in a heated room brings best results. Sow tomato seeds early in spring to pots or seeding trays filled with permeable soil. Transplant the seedlings to the field no earlier than in the second half of May. The first fruit mature already in July.
