Bean "Merveille de Venise" (Phaseolus vulgaris) is a pole (climbing) variety of French bean that produces very attractive pods. This plant develops large stalks that may grow up to 2.5 m long and therefore it needs staking. Pods of this particular variety take on bright yellow colour, are flat and long - even 18 - 20 cm. They do not only look good, but also an excellent tender taste and are stringless. These features make "Merveille de Venise" pods ideal for direct consumption, but you may also preserve and freeze them.

French bean seeds should be sown directly onto the field from May to beginning of July, preferably in batches every 2 - 3 weeks. That way you will be able enjoy fresh pods from July until September. Runner beans should be sown 2 - 3 seeds per hole, each hole 50 cm apart. You will get the best crops on moderately compact, humous and moderately moist soils. The soil should have slightly acidic or close to neutral reaction. A sunny, warm and wind-sheltered site would work best.

Each package contains 10 g of "Mereveille de Venise" yellow French bean seeds. The package information contains a growing guide and the sow-by date.
