Yellow French bean "Polka" (Phaseolus vulgaris) is a medium early variety whose pods reach crop maturity 60 - 70 days after the sow. The plants grow 45 - 50 cm tall on average and take on compact, bushy habit. Stiff, erect stems do not require supports. Pods appear in the middle parts of the plants. Fruit of the presented variety grow 12 - 14 cm long, have a circular cross section and do not narrow at any point. Ripe pods take on nice, bright yellow colour. They stand out with high consumptional value, are stringless, tender, fleshy and very tasty. That is why they are mostly consummed right after the harvest, but they will not lose their qualities when frozen.
Bean seeds available in our store have been treated. This means that the emerging plants are protected from pests and pathogens lingering in the soil. Mid-May to mid-July is the right time for sowing "Polka" French been seeds. Place them directly in soil in rows 35 - 40 cm apart, leaving 7 - 10 cm spacings between the plants. French bean is a thermophilic plant, so provide it with sunny, wind-sheltered site and a fertile, moderately moist soil and it will grow rapidly and yield abundant crops.
Each package contains 30 g of "Polka" yellow French treated bean seeds. A growing guide and the sow-by date have been included in the package information.
