Balkan anemone "Blue Shades" - Large pack - 80pieces

The "Blue Shades" Balkan anemone (Anemone blanda) belongs to small, yet exuberantly blooming, frost-resistant spring perennials. It grows only 10 - 15 cm tall and broad. Its branched, erect stems are covered with dentate dark green leaves. Flat, plate-shaped flowers with white centres and beautiful sky-blue flowers constitute by far the biggest ornament of this plant. This adorable tiny beauty works perfectly as ground cover of spring lawn and will spread intriguingly over a rock garden. It blooms in April and May when the garden is usually dominated by white and yellow flowers.

Bulbs of the Grecian windflower, as this plant is also commonly called, should be planted early in spring into moist, permeable soil rich in organic matter (e.g. enriched with granulated compost). This plant likes sunlight, although partial shade suits it well, too. Left on the same site for several years it will spread beautifully, without losing its dense habit.
