French pole bean "Borlotto lingua di fuoco 3" (Phaseolus vulgaris) is an Italian-bred, medium early variety that produces long (15 - 17 cm), slightly bent, flat, bicolour pods. Each of them contains 5 to 7 tasty, pale seeds with red stripes. It can be grown for pods or for dried seeds. Ripe pods may be consumed directly after cooking, preserved or frozed raw.
