Broad bean "White Windsor" (Vicia faba) - TREATED SEEDS - is a medium late, very productive variety. This annual plant produces one main stem growing up to 1 m tall. Pods that grow on it contain 3 to 4 seeds that are delicious and tender, take on greenish-white colour, but become beige-brown after drying. They may be harvested 90 - 100 days after the sow the earliest. Broad bean is usually consumed directly after the harvest, dried seeds are seldom used. This valuable vegetable has high nutritional value that significantly exceeds value of bean and pea. It constitutes great source of proteins, vitamins, particularly B vitamins, calcium, iron and phosphorus in your diet.

Broad bean grows and yields great crops in our climate conditions. It prefers heavier soils rich in nutrients and water with slightly basic or neutral reaction. Seeds available in our store have been treated. This action destroys pathogens occuring on the surface of the seeds and protects them from those lingering in the soil. It positively influences the emergence. Broad bean seeds are sown, a few per hole, in 20 - 30 cm spacings in rows 40 cm apart. Early spring is the ideal time for sowing broad bean.
