The "Nokturn" garden petunia (Petunia x hybrida) belongs to the unusual, dark coloured varieties with its navy-blue flowers . This vigorous, easy-to-grow annual plant is intended for cultivation in boxes, hanging baskets, flower pots and bowls on terraces and balconies. Petunia will also bloom abundantly in the ground, though. Thanks to the compact size and tuft shape it is ideally suited for flower borders and for the foreground of flower beds. Its delicate, funnel-shaped flowers with thin petals appear throughout the summer in enormous abundance.
Seeds of "Nokturn" garden petunia should be sown at home or onto a hotbed early in spring. The well-developed seedlings should be thinned once and may be transplanted outside at the end of May. A sunny balcony or terrace, as well as a sunny or semi-shaded flower bed offer best conditions for growing this vigorous, charming plant. The soil should be fertile, humous and permeable, yet not dry. Combined the "Nokturn" variety with white and pastel flowers for even more spectacular visual effects.
