Giant squash "Amazonka" (Cucurbita maxima) is a productive variety with a compact, subshrub habit. Each plant bears three to five round fruit with a vividly orange, smooth peel and similarly coloured, juicy, sweet flesh. The fruit reach weight of approximately 1.5 kg. They are rich in vitamins, especially beta-carotene and B-vitamins. Healthy juices, purees and soups, as well as marinades can be made of this squash variety.
Seeds of the "Amazonka" squash should be sown in the spring after the last frosts, possibly in clusters in 100 x 100 cm spacings. The plant needs sun and warmth, as well as medium humid, humous soil. One of the advantages of this variety offered in our store is resistance to diseases caused by moulds, what translates to rich and high-quality crops.
