The “Golden Balcony” begonia stands out with blooms that take on warm colours. The flowing flower cascades constitute an eye-pleasing mix of golden, peach and orange that would cheer up and bring life to every balcony, or terrace. This variety is ideally suited for growing in hanging baskets and pots. These plants grow 30-50 cm tall and develop branching, trailing shoots. Large, double flowers in pleasant colours will develop from June until October. For sure they will become a marvellous decoration.

Begonia is a perennial plant that, however, does not winter in the ground in Central European climate. The plants are sensitive temperatures below freezing point and therefore may only be planted outside mid-May. You may, though, plant begonia tubers in pots indoors in March already. Place them 5-8 cm deep in the soil, 15-20 cm apart. Begonias feel best on partially shady sites. They prefer soils rich in nutrients and humus with a slightly acidic reaction. They also require regular watering, as the soil needs to be constantly moist.
