Ivy-leaf pelargonium "Speedy mixed" (Pelargonium peltatum F2 hybrids) develops cascades of exuberant, grape-like inflorescences what makes it one of th most valuable and ornamental balcony plants. Plants of the presented variety take on a sprawling habit and their long (up to 75 cm in length) slender stems are covered from May until October with hundreds of single charming flowers in a an intriguing variety of colours (white, red, pink and purple in different shades).
Seeds of the "Speedy Mixed" ivy-leaf pelargonium are sown in early spring into a permeable soil. Seedlings should be produced on a hotbed, in an indoor greenhouse or in moderately heated room in pots covered with plastic foil. Seeds need stable air and soil humidity and warmth to germinate. Hardened seedlings may be transplanted to a hanging basket, large box, bowl or onto an elevated border in second half of May or even later. Plants would need sunlight and a fertile, regularly watered, permeable soil. Such conditions guarantee a true storm of multicoloured blooms of high durability.
