Korean elephant-ear or badan is an easily cultivated perennial plant that grows well on different sites, either dry or slightly moist, sunny or partially shady. Siberian or Mongolian tea plants, as this species is also called, grow 40-50 cm tall. They have a striking, unusual habit - they produce dense rosettes of green leaves with reddish flush, from which single, erect flowering stalks emerge. Tiny pink blooms gathered in exuberant heads adorn leather bergenias - another common name for the plant - in May and June.

Seeds are sown in spring to a hotbed or seed bed. Young plants are then transplanted to permanent positions in early autumn. They can grow in rock gardens, on the walls, close to the banks of water reservoirs or in sheltered garden corners - under trees and tall shrubs. They prefer light, permeable soils, although on sunny sites heavier and moist soils suits them better.

One package contains 0.05 g of seeds. The sow-by date and growing guide have been printed on the back side of the package.
